Last evening, after a long week of recruiting rally captains, sending out correspondence, maintaining computers and phone systems the volunteers reached the 1,700 rally captain mark and were taken to an evening of miniature golf.
Some of the volunteers live in the area and some have been here from various parts of the country to help.
You notice that these are all young ladies. It is impressive to see their innocence and dedication to such a cause. As one of the older volunteers stated, "what these young ladies are doing is something that would be challenging even for an adult, but they dive right in with zeal". As you may notice there is an absence of volunteers, say over the age of 30. They wisely elected to forego the event and chose instead to rest to prepare for the challenges of the next day.
For those leaving today, the end of last evening was a sad parting of newly made friends. Addresses and emails were exchanged. The camaraderie that exists among these young volunteers gives them strength as they return home, to face and to overcome, with the help of Our Lady, the challenges offered by our morally decaying society.
