Mittenwald, Bavaria
These great mountains, solitary and sublime, seem to invite men to recollection and to the serenity of lofty contemplations.
At the foot of the sublime, in lively and pleasant contrast, something gracious smiles and flourishes: a small charming town in which we feel the orderly yet vibrant rhyme of a life full of peace, purity, joy and activity.
This picture above is from Mittenwald, Bavaria. Its inhabitants carry out work of high artisanal value that demands an ambiance of harmony, which in its turn is a source of harmony: the people of Mittenwald produce violins of world renown.
The aim of these observations is not merely to present a beautiful panorama from Catholic Bavaria, but to highlight how artistic or artisanal production greatly benefits from an ambiance of art and poetry, even more so when enlivened with the Church’s shining presence.
Is it not for lack of this that our super hectic cities produce such artistic monsters?
