Dear Sir,
I write to express my outrage at the scheduled performance of pop singer Louise Ciccone called "Madonna" in Warsaw on the 15th of August, 2009.
The choice of the show’s date (a major Marian feast), as well as the content of some of the advertisements (such as the one that reads, "There's no room for two queens in this country"), is clearly intended to offend the religious sentiment of Polish Catholics, which is a violation of Article 196 of the Polish Criminal Code.
As an American Catholic, I am also deeply offended by this
blasphemy.
Madonna is notorious for her anti-Catholic words and acts. She should not be allowed to use a venue of the Polish state to defame the religion professed by the majority of its citizens. The “Warsaw-Babice,” located at the airport, is state property and should be used for the common good, not for anti-Catholic events.
I urge you to use all preventive measures afforded by law to stop the grounds belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration from becoming a place to offend Catholics.
Respectfully yours,
