What’s going on?
The city of Steubenville, Ohio approved a new logo that showcased the city’s rich history and diverse landmarks. An out-of-state activist group known as the Freedom From Religion foundation, which seeks to abolish anything related to religion, sent a letter to the city council threatening a lawsuit because among the landmarks featured in the logo, the Franciscan University of Steubenville’s iconic Christ the King chapel appears. The city council, in response to these threats, decided to change their minds and rejected the logo.
