A Day in the Life of a Public Square Rosary Volunteer

I thought you might be interested in the typical day of our volunteers, who travel to our office in Kansas to help enlist rally captains for the October 11th Public Square Rosary Crusade.

The typical day begins with travel to Holy Mass.  Mass is on the way to the office which is some 30 minutes outside of Topeka.  On the way to Mass the rosary is prayed in unison.  After Mass we travel to the office and have a brief breakfast.

Each Monday a half day training session begins for the new volunteers to familiarize them with all of the important points.  After lunch, they sit and learn from a more experienced volunteer. As soon as they are ready, they begin making calls.

On the other four days,  the calls begin around 9:30 and continue until noon for lunch.  After lunch the calls continue until 6PM.  At 6 we break for dinner.  Around 7PM we depart for the evening, again praying the rosary on the way.  We stop for a visit at a local adoration chapel to adore Our Lord in order to close the evening.  After adoration everyone is dropped off at their apartment to rest for the remainder of the evening.

On Saturdays we put in half a day since the volunteers are usually pretty exhausted from the week's efforts.  Saturdays typically end with a nice outdoor barbecue. On Sundays after Mass, we travel to a local museum or some other outing.  So far we have visited, the Kansas historical museum, Coronado Heights, Lindsborg, KS and the Kansas City Art Museum.

It is quite impressive to witness the dedication of our volunteers.  It is also moving to see their enthusiasm as they sign up more and more rally captains.
