Easter Week Will See First Drag Show at the Catholic University of San Diego

Higher learning at the Catholic University of San Diego has reached a new low.   During the month of April, a series of pro-homosexual presentations, events and workshops -- including a drag show -- are being hosted on campus.

An announcement posted on the university’s webpage invites students to a “drag show sponsored by PRIDE” on April 11.  The drag show is billed as “entertaining and educational” and will “explore the way gender is understood and performed on a daily basis. University Center, Forums B/C. 7 - 9 p.m. Free.”

According to the university’s website: “These workshops and events are designed to help students understand and be able to define key terms such as transgender, gender identity, and gender expression, as well as to foster students' understanding of and empathy for the complexities of gender non-conformity.”
Catholics React

These scandalous events have been denounced by the Cardinal Newman Society, a growing number of Catholic students and alumni, and the California Catholic Daily.
USD alumnus, Charles S. LiMandri, is asking Catholics to stand up for moral values. “We need your help for a few minutes during Holy Week to stop a grievous injury to the Body of Christ,” he said.

“Hard as it is to believe, on April 11, 2012, the University of San Diego, which is my alma mater and a Catholic institution, is planning to have on campus its first ‘Drag Show.’  USD is even planning to have a local ‘drag queen’ M.C. this scandalous event,” said Mr. LiMandri.

Drag shows are a notorious symbol of moral depravity, part of the sexual revolution apparatus.  In these times, one might expect to find such things on the infamous stages of Broadway or the godless sets of Hollywood. But at a Catholic university?

Our Lord is Offended

“This sorrowful event at this once Catholic university hearkens to the scourging and crowning of thorns which Our Lord suffered on Good Friday,” wrote a reader of the California Catholic Daily.  “The persons who are responsible should hang their heads in shame. WE ARE NOT WHAT WE DO. Rather we are all created in the Image and Likeness of God. We are temples of the Holy Spirit. We are more than this caricature called ‘gender identity.’

“My Jesus, deliver us from this scourge of same-sex attraction and deliver those misguided people who would allow this on the USD campus.”
