One of our volunteers related a conversation that they had with a rally captain from last year. This rally captain had a good number of participants lined up for her rally.
On the day of the rally however, there was a terrible rain storm. As a result, not one single participant showed up.
This rally captain was all by herself, or so she thought at first. She was tempted to go home. Instead, she reflected and decided she was not going to turn her back on Our Lady by leaving.
She went ahead and prayed the entire two hours all by herself. After the rally, the captain had to go to the hospital as she had some serious health problems that had to be treated.
I am confident that she was not alone, that Our Lady sent her angels to protect and encourage her. I would categorize her rally as a total success. While numbers are important, it is love for Our Lady and the dedication that we have towards Her that really matter in the end.
Today we signed up our 3,100th rally captain!
