May 25 --------- Pope St. Gregory VII
In the year 1090, Pope St. Gregory VII wrote a summary of several theses upholding the supremacy of the Pope over the temporal sphere of the Emperor. He affirmed that the Papal Monarchy is universal in the spiritual realm (the Pope golden key), but that it should have influence over the Empire (the Pope’s silver key) without governing directly.
The temporal power should govern according to natural law but the Papacy should watch that it conforms to the plans of Divine Providence.
Therefore, the rightful position of the Pope, as Vicar of Christ, is at the top with the Emperor just a step below, governing the kings and sovereigns in the temporal sphere. This sublime order very definitely mirrors the order of Heaven and fulfills the words of the "Our Father", "Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven".
Let us ask St. Gregory VII to intercede for the world to once again have this heavenly concept , which upon its return will bring the dawn of the promises of Our Lady of Fatima. "In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph!"
