Canada’s House of Commons passes transgender bill

OTTAWA, Tue Mar 1, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Just after Canada’s House of Commons narrowly passed a ‘transgender’ bill (Bill C-389) that would criminalize discrimination based on “gender identity” and “gender expression,” Joe Comartin, New Democratic Party MP for Windsor-Tecumseh, introduced an amendment to the Criminal Code, Bill C-628 that had First Reading on February 11.  The amendment would “remove the distinction between anal intercourse and other forms of sexual activity. It also amends other sections of that Act in consequence.”

Currently, Section 159 of the Criminal Code states that “(1) Every person who engages in an act of anal intercourse is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years or is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction,” and “(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to any act engaged in, in private, between
(a) husband and wife, or
(b) any two persons, each of whom is eighteen years of age or more, both of whom consent to the act.”

The law restricting sodomy to those over 18 carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.

Comartin is well known for his legislative support of homosexual ideology.

In 2007, he proposed an amendment to legislation that would have lowered the legal age of consent for sodomy to sixteen, from the current Canadian legal age of 18. This proposed amendment was eventually disallowed by the justice committee chairman.

The numerous studies of the medical consequences of homosexual behavior are largely ignored in the political agenda-driven push to normalize homosexuality.

However, although homosexuality was diagnosed and treated as a psychiatric illness until 1973, when it was removed from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual in psychiatry, researchers such as Dr. Rick Fitzgibbons, a principal contributor to the Catholic Medical Association’s statement on homosexuality, has said that changes in institutional views of homosexuality have not been helpful for those who have been acting on the disposition.

“The sexual practices of homosexuals involve serious health risks and illness. Specifically, sodomy as a sexual behavior is associated with significant and life-threatening health problems,” Fitzgibbons observed.

Regarding mental health consequences, Fitzgibbons stated there is a “strong link between homosexual sex and suicide, as well as a relationship between homosexuality and emotional and mental problems.”

“The youth suffering from these disorders” Fitzgibbons said in a 2003 Zenit interview, (http://www.zenit.org/english/visualizza.phtml?sid=41158) “were four times as likely as their peers to suffer from major depression, almost three times as likely to suffer from generalized anxiety disorder, nearly four times as likely to experience conduct disorder, five times as likely to have nicotine dependence, six times as likely to suffer from multiple disorders, and over six times as likely to have attempted suicide.”

To the homosexualist claim that lack of social acceptance is the primary cause of mental problems experienced by persons who engage in homosexual activity, Fitzgibbons responded that an extensive study in the Netherlands, where homosexuality has long been accepted and protected under law, indicates that “psychiatric disease cannot be attributed to social rejection and homophobia.”

The high rate of psychiatric disorders associated with homosexual behavior in the Netherlands contradicts the homosexual activist assumption about the cause of these disorders among homosexuals.

Fitzgibbons expressed concern that persons involved in homosexuality have been left at high risk by most medical groups that have “embraced the homosexual agenda and are advocating that lifestyle, despite all of the scientific studies and medical evidence that demonstrate medical and psychological risks.”

“It seems”, he told Zenit, “the politically correct homosexual agenda is trumping science.”

A 2007 study, which appeared in the International Journal of STD & AIDS, found that “HIV-positive men who have sex with men are up to 90 times more likely than the general population to develop anal cancer.”

A Canadian doctor who commented on the dangers inherent in the act of sodomy stated, “Anal intercourse causes abrasions of the relatively fragile rectal wall, especially in the receptive partner. The penetration of E.coli, always present in the stool, and other bacteria, viruses and parasites penetrate through such lesions into the deeper body tissues. This leads to the suppression of the immune system of such individuals even if there is no exposure to HIV. The immune suppression increases the risk to develop certain cancers, opportunistic infections, to which otherwise one would be resistant, and other health problems including the risk of premature death.”

A group of Canadian doctors, who in 2005 presented a brief to Canadian Parliamentarians showing scientific evidence that homosexual “marriage” is a health risk to Canadians, warned that anal sex, as practiced by most homosexual men, has a large number of diseases associated with it, “many of which are rare or even unknown in the heterosexual population” such as: anal cancer, Chlamydia trachomatis, Cryptosporidium, Giardia lamblia, Herpes simplex virus, HIV, Human papilloma virus, Isospora belli, Microsporidia, Gonorrhoea, Syphilis, Hepatitis B and C and others.
