To celebrate the feast day of Our Lady of Good Success, the good people of Quito, Ecuador, pray the traditional Rosary of the Dawn.
The Rosary of the Dawn
At 4:30 a.m. on the day of the procession, we gathered before Our Lady in the darkened Church praying for “good success.”
As five o’clock neared, the first groups of people slowly filtered in. They soon started coming in spurts and then in torrents – people of all ages, men, women and children, fragile elderly ladies, husky men and young students. Whole communities of religious nuns filed in until we were astonished to see the church jammed with nearly a thousand people.
Before Quito awoke, the procession formed outside and Our Lady returned to parade in triumph through the main streets and central square.
It was then that I saw that my wish was granted. I had a privileged place in the procession right next to the statue helping to direct the litter bearers amid the crowd. As I looked upon the sea of Ecuadorian faces, I saw their supreme jubilation. We were showered (if not pelted) with rose petals in a display of contagious Latin exuberance.
It was as if the people were unshackled from their modern miseries and, forgetting themselves, now only thought of their queen and mother. The somber strains of the Spanish hymns filled the streets speaking of a tender child-like devotion:
O my mother who art in heaven
Send counsels to my heart
And when sad, weeping I call upon thee
And thy sweet blessings thou will bestow.
For a brief moment, I had a glimpse of the kind of Catholic souls that built those great churches. When a whole society is imbued with this kind of enthusiasm for the Faith, its churches rise to heaven… and heaven comes down to earth.

Ready for a Holy Lent?
My favorite Way of the Cross was written by Prof. Plinio Correa de Oliveira and I want to share a free copy of it with you this Lent.
For example, Prof. Oliveira has this great quote:
"In periods of great crises, there are two kinds of men, those who give in and are overwhelmed by the crises and those who resist and change the course of history."
I pray you are of the second type and that's why I offer you a Way of the Cross this Lent.
You can get it as a CD or book.
Or you can download it in digital format. CLICK HERE FOR COPY.

Your comments about the protest and reparation for the Jerry Springer show
Let us storm heaven with prayers. God is more powerful than Satan.
Fr. FDB

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Jesus Christ,
I will be praying the Rosary today from my home at the same time as your gathering. What you are doing is so important!!! May The Most Blessed Trinity have mercy on the souls of all those involved in this very sick event. We pray for their conversion and that they will see the true light, the only light, Our Lord Jesus Christ!!!
All in Jesus' Name,
SW

Dear Mr. Robert Ritchie:
I wanted to let you know that I sent my e-protest card directly to Carnegie Hall a few minutes ago. I was shocked and very upset to hear about the blasphemous “Jerry Springer: The Opera” will be performed on one of the most prestigious stages in the world: Carnegie Hall in NYC. And that it contains the most explicitly blasphemous attacks on Jesus and Mary, Catholic belief. I will continue praying the Rosary and asking for one of my petitions to always be Stop the Blasphemy of our Lord Jesus and our Blessed Mother Mary.
Thank you and God Bless.

When are we going to wake up, and put God back where He belongs. Only through Prayer will this be achieved. I say the Rosary every day. Also we have the Living Rosary in Our Parish here in Spring Hill, FL. We have 80 members and growing every day. I will be Praying for you.
Your Friend in Christ,
BO

Dear Robert - I will be glad to say an extra rosary today for this intention. My heart breaks at the mockery toward Jesus and Mary. The other day I searched the web for pictures of the Crucifixion and was appalled at what I saw on some of them. God bless you. I'm sorry I can no longer contribute financially but will always be happy to pray.

I emailed Carnegie Hall to express my disgust!

----------------------------------------------------------
Dear Robert, I could not open the e-protest . But rest assured that I detest this sort of filthy blasphemy. They showed the movie " Hail Mary " in our town in Ireland about 20 years ago. The Irish response: they built a
shrine to the Holy Virgin and Child.
Viva Cristo Rey! .

Thank-you for letting me know about the production at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
I e-mailed them my response and put a comment in along with it.
I also forwarded a copy of the e-mail to a family member who will respond.
I will keep on praying. I try each day to say the rosary, and so does my husband.

No! to blasphemy -- Rally of Reparation at Carnegie Hall was inspiring
For more than two hours on Tuesday evening, Jan. 29, close to 200 Catholics protested and prayed in front of Carnegie Hall in Manhattan in reparation for the blasphemous Jerry Springer comedy.
I was deeply inspired by the determination and dedication of Our Lady's prayer warriors.
For a short clip of the rally, CLICK HERE.
And, for another short clip:
The LIBERAL mainstream media, as expected, said almost nothing of the rally of reparation.
The New York Times is an exception. Today, they did made this reference to protestors:
"And though I’d love to say that the protesters who assembled outside the theater on Wednesday to protest a show that “blasphemes our Lord” would be disarmed if they ever got to see “Jerry Springer,” I can’t.
The article continues:
"New York’s “Jerry Springer moment,” to quote from the show’s catchiest song, is alas a criminally short one. There’s been talk of moving it to Broadway, but, as last night’s protesters’ indicated, any producer can expect his share of public-relations problems. What’s more, Broadway theatergoers are a famously conservative lot these days (New York Times, Jan. 30, 2008)."
SO - please be on the alert!
The Jerry Springer show may go to Broadway. And, if so, we'll ask Catholics to join together to offer public reparation to Our Lord and to say NO! to the promoters of blasphemy.
Meanwhile, I want to offer sincere thanks to those who:
-- stood outside Carnegie Hall in the cold, praying and protesting
-- called Carnegie Hall to share their just outrage
-- wrote protest letters via regular mail or by e-mail
The spiritual battle is not over.
Even if Jerry Springer does NOT go to Broadway, we'll continue protesting it with an extensive postcard protest campaign. Please check your mailbox for your postcards. They should arrive soon. And you can pass them on to friends.
You can also order more protest postcards by calling 1-888-317-5571. We'll' send them to you ASAP.
May God have mercy on America, and look upon our anti-blasphemy efforts with kindness, through the ineffable intercession of Mary Most Holy.
Long live Christ the King!
Long live Mary Most Holy!
Long live our dearly beloved Catholic Faith!

See You at Carnegie Hall, Tuesday 6PM
It's a great honor to pray a Rosary of Reparation in front of Carnegie Hall in Manhattan on Tuesday night for the blasphemies in Jerry Springer: The Opera in Concert.
The banner we will be holding says:
Our Lord Jesus Christ and Mary Most Holy will be impunely and defenselessly subjected in Carnegie Hall to the gravest insults, outrages and ridicule in Jerry Springer: The Opera in Concert.
Will you join our Rosary of reparation? Or will you wash your hands in the basin of Pontius Pilate?
Please call 1-888-317-5571 for more details or for directions.
Even if you cannot come in person, can you offer a holy hour in reparation?
I suggest you go to your local adoration chapel and pray there as we're praying in public on Tuesday night from 6-PM.

Sacred Heart Picture For You
As a compliment to the campaign to spread free rosaries, we're offering you a free and very beautiful picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
You can claim yours by calling 1-888-317-5571.
There are 12 wonderful promises made by the Scared Heart of Jesus to those who promote devotion to His Sacred Heart.
The one that impressed me the most is:
Those who shall promote this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart, never to be blotted out.
You can also read about the origin of the Sacred Heard Badge Here.
Free Fatima Rosary
You are invited to get your free Fatima Rosary from America Needs Fatima.
Just call Maria or Lucilia at 1-888-317-5571 and say you saw this on my site and they will ship one set of rosary beads to you for free.

Will you Say No to "Jerry Springer" Opera in Carnegie Hall?
"Jerry Springer--The Opera in Concert" is scheduled to show on January 29 and 30, it will be performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
My friends from the American TFP and America Needs Fatima will be protesting outside Carnegie Hall on Tuesday night from 6-8 p.m.
The musician “opera” defies description in detail since it contains so much profanity, nudity and blasphemous content.
Some examples include:
- The crucifixion is mocked and the Eucharist is trashed
- There is a lady singing “Jerry eleison” (mocking the Mass: Kyrie Eleison)
- Jesus is introduced as “the hypocrite son of the fascist tyrant on high.” He wears a diaper, is fat and effeminate and admits: “Actually, I am a bit gay.”
- Eve gropes Jesus in a way too indecent to describe and the Annunciation is described as a rape.
- God is a fat man in a white suit who complains about being blamed for everyone’s problems. He invites Jerry Springer to join Him to “sit in Heaven beside me, hold my hand and guide me.”
At the end, Jerry emerges as the true savior of mankind.
Throughout its long and tragic history, the “opera” has earned its blasphemous reputation. In London, the debut was the subject of a libel suit for defaming Christians. When it was to be aired on the BBC, it drew more than 60,000 complaints.
I hope you will protest with me. Please come in person or write to:
