Service Planned to Mourn Geese Euthanized in Oregon
BEND -- To mourn the death of 109 Canada geese that were euthanized at the behest of the Bend Park & Recreation District, some city residents plan to hold a memorial service at the Galveston Bridge in Drake Park to remember the slain birds.

It was an effort approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife to help the park district reduce the local goose population after various hazing attempts over the past several months did not work.
