Everywhere we look today there’s some huge and terrible crisis going one. The family is falling apart; the economy in on the rocks; the Church is in crisis; all kinds of natural and man-made disasters abound.
Where then can we look for hope?
Not to human solutions, that’s for sure. Instead, we must look to the maternal heart of the Blessed Mother for real help and real solutions. That’s the way it has always worked, and that’s the way it will work in the future.
So, please ponder these beautiful quotes about Our Lady and fell real hope in your heart:
“When the Blessed Virgin enters into the life of a soul, she causes a radiant springtime to blossom there. She chases away gloomy clouds of sadness, doubt, and discouragement. Hearts that give themselves sincerely to her are flooded with clarity, peace, and happiness.”
(Father Thomas de Saint-Laurent)
“The Immaculate Mother came into the world at a time when the Jews had lost hope. Indeed, they thought all was lost. Let us reap the benefit of this lesson. We often become discouraged when, calling on heaven to assist us, our request is not immediately granted. Sometimes God waits until we are on the brink of the abyss before extending His hand of mercy. So, let us not become discouraged and cease praying! The Almighty will intervene at the very moment when we believe ourselves completely abandoned. If we have confidence—an unlimited supply of confidence—we will be greatly rewarded!”
(Father Thomas de Saint-Laurent)
"In dangers, in doubts, in difficulties, think of Mary, call upon Mary. Let not her name depart from your lips, never suffer it to leave your heart. And that you may obtain the assistance of her prayer, neglect not to walk in her footsteps. With her for guide, you shall never go astray; while invoking her, you shall never lose heart; so long as she is in your mind, you are safe from deception; while she holds your hand, you cannot fall; under her protection you have nothing to fear; if she walks before you, you shall not grow weary; if she shows you favor, you shall reach the goal."
(Saint Bernard of Clairvaux)
"The Immaculate alone has from God the promise of victory over Satan. She seeks souls that will consecrate themselves entirely to her, that will become in her hands forceful instruments for the defeat of Satan and the spread of God's kingdom."
(St. Maximilian Kolbe)
"If you invoke the Blessed Virgin when you are tempted, she will come at once to your help, and Satan will leave you."
(St. John Vianney)
“O sinner, be not discouraged, but have recourse to Mary in all you necessities. Call her to your assistance, for such is the divine Will that she should help in every kind of necessity.
(Saint Basil the Great)
“Let the storm rage and the sky darken - not for that shall we be dismayed. If we trust as we should in Mary, we shall recognize in her, the Virgin Most Powerful ‘who with virginal foot did crush the head of the serpent’.”
(Pope Saint Pius X)
