May 13 homily at Fatima: "Our Lady points out to us the non-negotiable principles..."

In face of the loss of the meaning of values and the disorientation of consciences, Our Lady points out to us the non-negotiable principles, from which one must inevitably start in order to found a correct civilian and Christian coexistence. Life; family; matrimony, as a stable and faithful union of one man and one woman and not in any other way; concrete charity; personal dignity, extended to all moments of life and to all dimensions of existence. This is the background and the atmosphere – human and Christian –in which the Message and the events of Cova da Iria are set.

To a world thirsting for hope and happiness, the Virgin Mary answers with one sole Word, which sums everything up: Jesus! Only in Him we find Peace; He alone kindles hope; only in Him there is Life, a gift of Heaven. And Christ came so that all may have life and life in abundance (cf. Jn 10, 10).
