This year showed a sharp increase in the attendance as you can see by the photos. Almost 1,000 pro-life Kansans gathered for a banquet in a very good ambience. The meal of course was only an excuse to gather with hundreds of other pro-lifers to hear some of the moving stories and to be informed of some of the life challenges in our nation and in our state.
The keynote presentation was by a young and obviously nervous couple. The wife was forced by her parents to have a late term abortion. It was sad to see what the culture of death has done to families. How could parents demand the murder of their unborn grandchild? The ending however, was good. The couple eventually married and the wife converted to the Catholic Church. They now have three young children.
There were also video clips of the March for Life in Washington DC and recognition of the pro-life U.S. and State Senators and Congressmen present.
The evening ended with a prayer by a Benedictine priest.
