Sacramental grace propels civilization to its highest possible pinnacle

When we search for that which is most elevated, dignified and
noble, we inevitably find the supernatural and divine, which is at the pinnacle of all beauty and the true wellspring of Christian civilization.

Omne delectamentum in se habentem, says the liturgy for Benediction. We might say of this vision that it “has within it all sweetness.”

By embracing the supernatural, we encounter Divine grace, which
communicates supernatural life to the souls of men.  We cannot quantify the action of grace in history.  Rather we can only observe the transformations that defy normal explanations in the normal development of man.

Grace perfects nature, so that we become capable of acts of
heroic virtue.  As a result, we see those who bear suffering with joy and dignity, experience triumph with humility and treat others with veneration and respect as brothers.

Grace enlightens reason, which guided by the light of the Faith and an infallible Magisterium, creates the ideal conditions for an organic society. In this way, we observe and admire
that wisdom, which guided Christian civilization to heights unknown to prior men.

We must abandon a failing materialist culture that adopted the common, useful and ordinary as its “unheroic” standard.

Instead, the present times call for a return to those higher values that unified Christian civilization.

If we are to survive the coming storm, we must repair to this wellspring to regenerate our culture. From this source, we will see its fruits reflected in the sanctuary, the public square and the marketplace.
