2008 Rosary Rallies – Bulletin #1

Volunteers flock to help at National Rally Coordination Office

America Needs Fatima is organizing thousands of Rosary Rallies in public places across the country on October 11, the Saturday closest to October 13, the day of the historic Fatima miracle of the sun in 1917. It’s called the Public Square Rosary Crusade.

Last year, more than 2,000 Rosary Rallies were held on October 13, 90 years after Our Lady’s apparitions to the three shepherd children asking for penance and prayer, especially the Rosary. (Picture from 2007 Rosary Rally in Utica, NY)

The 2008 national effort is only made possible due to the time, dedication and energy of volunteers who make and receive tens of thousands of phone calls at our national rally coordination center in Rossville, Kansas.

Over 100 volunteers have already signed up to cover the phones from June 16 to October 31. Some volunteers have come from as far away as Saipan (Saipan is in the Mariana Islands, near Guam, in the Pacific Ocean).

Having 100 Rally volunteers at the office means there will always be 10 or more volunteers making and taking call every day. This is important since last year over 25,000 calls were made or received at the national rally office.

Typically, rally volunteers stay at the national coordination office for an average of 10 days, with travel, food and lodging covered by the good will donations sent to ANF by our generous donors.

The rally coordination office is under the competent guidance of Mr. Francis Slobodnik, with the able assistance of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Pierce and a line up of 10 dedicated and pious staff members.
