Bishop Bruskewitz Writes Notre Dame, a ' formerly Catholic University'

Bishop decries 'absolute indifference to the murderous abortion program and beliefs of this President of the United States.'

MANASSAS, Va. (Cardinal Newman Society) - Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz of the Lincoln Diocese supplied The Cardinal Newman Society (CNS) with a copy of his letter to University of Notre Dame President Fr. John Jenkins in which the bishop publicly opposes Jenkins’ past support for The V Monologues and his decision to honor and host pro-abortion President Barack Obama at commencement on May 17, 2009.

“Faithful Catholics will be thankful for Bishop Bruskewitz’s clear and pointed criticism of the abuse of Catholic identity at Notre Dame and should remain vigilant in their prayers for an end to the scandal,” said Patrick J. Reilly, president of The Cardinal Newman Society.
