St. Joachim and St. Ann were childless until, in their old age, they conceived a child , Mary, the future Mother of God. Can you imagine their sacrifice when they brought her to the Temple at age three, never to see her again?
But God does wondrous things. In the Temple, Mary increased her love of God and formed an ardent desire for the imminent coming of the Messiah. She asked God to be the maidservant of His Mother, not knowing, in fact, that she was the one chosen by Him. Therefore, we see that the preparation for Our Lady to be Mother of God began with the Presentation in the Temple.
Let us ask for the grace to be better prepared to serve God as Our Lady. We can do this by presenting ourselves to her and by asking her to receive our offer of service. This will aid us in our path to sanctification.
