In the meeting hall of the Lower Austrian Diet a larger than life statue of the Virgin is on display, made by the Australian "artist" Mark Rossell.
The statue is covered, according to media reports by a huge condom.

This blasphemy is is not just an incredible denigration and ridicule of the Mother of God, but it also violates the religious feelings of Catholics worldwide --Mary is the very essence of purity.
