I’ve been crossing a trial of confidence because I may be forced...

... to say “NO!” to several teenagers who want to come to our “Call to Chivalry” camp in Pennsylvania.

Like Kevin.

He came to our TFP “Call to Chivalry” camp last year and loved it!

He’s 13, from New York, and his mother wants him to grow up without getting into drugs or gangs or alcohol, or taking the name of God in vain.

But she can barely make enough money to feed her family. And our budget is so strained that I won’t be able to host boys like Kevin until -- and unless -- I receive your generous help right away.

Please believe me when I tell you that TFP camps are truly life-changing experiences. Boys become men... Catholic gentlemen... and learn virtue.

And the boys who come to the camp are not from affluent families – but from families that work hard to make ends meet, and want their boys to respect God and His law.

But they simply can’t afford the $400 it costs for our 10-day camp.

That’s why I’m writing to you today.

Please, help me say “Yes!” to boys like Kevin, with a gift of $25 or $50 or $100 or even $400.

Also -- I cordially invite you to sponsor a boy from a poor family with a gift of $400. How wonderful that would be!

Rest assured that your gift, no matter the size, will help build the Catholic church of the next generation, and will be greatly appreciated and acknowledged.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a boy, even though, to put on such high quality camp, I estimate that we need to raise at least $12,750.

Is it worth it? Absolutely!

You see, when you consider we’re helping to save souls, not to mention some of the treats I’ve planned for boys like Kevin to enjoy...

...sports, treasure hunt, and a visit to Gettysburg …

If it is raining outdoors, inside there are all kinds of games – including Ping-Pong and Chess, Charades, Krinky, Risk, Scrabble, Monopoly and Pictionary.
For the “Medieval games,” boys get dressed in special epoch costumes. Each team has a logo, captain and patron saint. They pick a battle cry, which is used for all the games, such as “St. Louis the King, the glory of Christendom. Help us!”

And for the soul, the boys enjoy lectures on devotion to Mary, lives of the Saints, Catholic morality and Church history.

After dinner, the boys say the Rosary in a torchlight procession. And I cannot forget the all night prayer vigil before a relic of the True Cross. Each boy gets a half hour time slot, and they do it quite cheerfully.

But most importantly, confession and Holy Mass will be the camp’s crowning jewels!

Let me tell you, there’s nothing like our summer camps. This is how one boy describes it: “This has been the happiest time of my life.”

And all I need to finish my plans for the camp is your generous gift – which will be most appreciated and acknowledged.

Thank you for understanding why I must ask your help to form strong Catholic leaders for tomorrow.

Sincerely yours,

John Ritchie
TFP Student Action Director

P.S. – When you send your gift of $25, $50, $100 or even $400, the boys will hear about it and pray for you with deepest gratitude.
