About 65 people joined our second Rally for Traditional Marriage, about double the number of folks who joined us for the December 8, 2011 Rally.
We were blessed with a picture-perfect spring day with bright sunshine, a gentle breeze, and temps in the upper 70's. There was a tremendous diversity of folks, both age-wise and also Catholics as well as non-Catholics, including one gentleman who was considering becoming a Catholic.
The crowd also included a nun and five members of the Knights of Columbus, one in his full dress regalia, and a Ph.D molecular biologist, along with six children and a respectable group of middle-agers.
The Rally was on a busy road adjacent to the Cincinnati metro's largest shopping center, thus assuring both high visibility and a variety of people passing by the area. We used walkie-talkies which greatly aided in our communications and coordination of prayers for the rally.
There were about 500 - 600 cars that passed during our 45 minute Rally, with the vast majority of the responses received being positive, but with some negatives too.
We hosted a luncheon after the Rally to give everyone a chance to talk over the events of the day and plan our strategy for the next one.
Rally Captain, Pat Ashcraft
